Visiones expandidas
Jones, Julie
At the beginning of the 20th century, Dadaists, Surrealists, and Constructivists explored the boundaries of photographic language as a means to capture the spirit of modern times. Abstract images, photomontages, or photograms obtained without camera intervention allowed for the expression of the formal, social, and political concerns of the moment. Since the second half of the 20th century, photographic experimentation continues to blur the boundaries between painting, sculpture, cinema, and performance. This exhibition presents a journey from the beginnings of photographic experimentation through more than 170 images from the collection of the Musée National d’Art Moderne – Centre d’Art Georges Pompidou, structured into six thematic sections: Lights, Movement, Alterations, Recreating Worlds, Vision Tested, and Anatomies.
