About the workshop
In this course you will explore photography and embroidery, to create from the unique intersection between the visual and the textile. Throughout the workshop, participants will develop skills in capturing images, using photographic files, and will intervene in photographs with the creation of embroidery that complements and enriches those images.

Mayra Biajante @mayrabiajante
Mayra Biajante is a Brazilian photographer who loves portraits and the stories that images can tell. Of the beauty of everyday life, of memory that transforms, to play with lines. In 2015 she created Foto Colectivo Dos with two more friends. She used to live and work in São Paulo, but since 2016 she has been working itinerantly, traveling around Latin America and in 2018 she published the photobook Diário de Viagem, telling a little about this experience. She participated in exhibitions in Brazil, Ecuador, Mexico, the United States, Spain and Japan. Her latest works were the individual exhibition “Revés: la belleza de lo que no se ve”, a series of portraits in which she used the photoembroidery technique, and the group exhibition “La Vida Sigue” with the Arte Mujer Oaxaca collective, held in Oaxaca, Mexico.
